The bore is bright and shiny but does have the tool marks consistent with wartime production. Overall condition is very good with some areas of thinning, scratches and holster wear but still an honest 85-90%. The best information I have all points to this being a type II with about 90,000 produced and these were the last with a tangent sight. The aforementioned Waffenamt code is very faintly repeated on the back of the magazine and again on the front of the slide.
#Fn 9mm head stamp serial numbers
I don’t know if there are supposed to be more serial numbers elsewhere but I don’t see any. The serial number 107008 is on the chamber, slide and frame with a partial eagle stamp above the number on the chamber. These last two markings are repeated directly below on the frame. Additionally it is Waffenamt stamped WaA140 and has the eagle over swastika. The left side of the slide is stamped Fabrique Nationale D’Armes De Guerre Herstal Belgique in large letters and Browning’s Patent Despose somewhat smaller. This FN high power was produced during the WW II Nazi occupation of Belgium. In my experience each brand of brass will result in different oals and hence different velocities, etc. Description: We are offering you the opportunity to own a very rare piece of history. Like you said, I also want consistent chrono readings because of similar case volume.
